Our Commitment to Accessibility
NookScan Protocol™ is built on the belief that compliance technology should work for everyone. We are committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible to all users, including individuals who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, keyboard-only navigation, and screen magnification tools.
Conformance Standards
We design and develop NookScan Protocol to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognized standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). While we strive for full conformance, accessibility is an ongoing effort and we are continuously working to improve the experience for all users.
What We've Built for Accessibility
NookScan Protocol includes the following accessibility features across our platform:
- Keyboard Navigation — Every interactive element, including buttons, links, form fields, and navigation menus, is fully operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse
- Screen Reader Compatibility — We use semantic HTML elements, ARIA labels, and roles to ensure assistive technologies can accurately interpret and announce page content
- Color Contrast Compliance — All text, icons, and interactive UI elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Heading Hierarchy & Document Structure — Pages follow a logical heading order (H1 through H6) with proper use of landmarks, regions, and semantic sectioning elements
- Visible Focus Indicators — All focusable elements display clear, visible focus outlines to support keyboard-only users
- Responsive & Zoomable Design — Content reflows and remains fully functional at up to 200% browser zoom and across all screen sizes from mobile to desktop
- Form Accessibility — All form inputs include associated labels, error messages are programmatically linked to their fields, and required fields are clearly indicated
- Skip Navigation — A “Skip to main content” link is available for keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repetitive navigation
Known Limitations
We are aware that no digital product is perfectly accessible at all times. If you discover a feature or page that does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, we consider that a bug and will prioritize a fix. We are actively working to address any remaining gaps as part of our ongoing accessibility audits.
Report an Accessibility Barrier
If you experience any difficulty accessing or using NookScan Protocol, we want to know about it. Please contact us at:
To help us resolve the issue quickly, please include:
- The URL of the page where you encountered the barrier
- A description of the issue and what you were trying to do
- The browser and operating system you were using
- The assistive technology involved, if applicable (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Dragon)
We will acknowledge your report within 2 business days and work to resolve the issue within 10 business days. If a fix requires additional time, we will provide a timeline and, where possible, an alternative way to access the content or complete the task.
Third-Party Content
NookScan Protocol may integrate with third-party services such as payment processors and authentication providers. While we select partners that share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee full conformance of third-party content. We encourage users to report any accessibility issues encountered during these interactions so we can advocate for improvements with our partners.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is not a one-time effort — it is a core part of how we build and maintain NookScan Protocol. Our team regularly audits the platform using both automated testing tools and manual review, incorporates feedback from users with disabilities, and updates our codebase to align with evolving accessibility standards and best practices.
